TIPS:
– There’s so many studios you can go to, each with a different vibe/theme
– Make sure you book in advance! Studios can be booked out quickly
– Some can be scheduled through Instagram but mostly Kakao
– There will most likely be a deposit fee. Foreigners have options such as Wise but if you have a local friend who can transfer Korean bank that’s great too 🙂
– Lastly, book hair & makeup appointments too! Might as well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Mangwon and Gwangjang Market both offer amazing food experiences, but they have different vibes and specialties 👇🍢🥟🍗🤤
📍Mangwon Market (망원시장)
• Neighborhood Feel: More local and residential, not as touristy as Gwangjang.
• Food Scene: Street food + fresh produce + trendy cafés nearby. Popular for marinated fried chicken, tteokbokki, croquettes, and gimbap.
• Crowd: Mostly locals and younger Koreans; less crowded than Gwangjang.
📍Gwangjang Market (광장시장)
• Historic & Iconic: One of Korea’s oldest markets, famous for traditional street food.
• Food Scene: Famous for Mayak gimbap (addictive mini gimbap), bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes), yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), and handmade dumplings.
• Vibe: Bustling, old-school market atmosphere with tightly packed food stalls.
• Crowd: Lots of tourists, locals, and even food tour groups. Always busy!
Mangwon Market is around a 5-min taxi ride 🚕 or a 15-20 min walk 🚶from Hongdae or you can go to Mangwon Station 🚉(line 6)!
It’s an easy trip, so if you’re in Hongdae, Mangwon Market is definitely worth a visit!

If you’ve been to Nami Island🏝️ and Garden of Morning calm 🪴before in the summer or spring, you should also visit during the winter! It’s a different feeling for sure especially because the garden has these incredible Christmas lights you can’t miss! 🌈
